What others have to say?
*We had a very good stay in Amafu. The accommodation was really good, with 2 large bedrooms and a large living room including kitchen. The view was really amazing. We enjoyed it very much.
The host is very friendly, and so are his employees. If you like, you can enjoy breakfast and dinner for a good price.
The location is just nearby Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre (at night and in the evening you could hear the roaring of the lions of Moholoholo) and the Blyderivierspoortdam, where you can walk some beautiful trails. Orpen Gate at Kruger Park is a one hour’s drive from the lodge.

*We where so pleased to meet Steve, his wife, Neily and Pledge that was on the top to welcome and guide us for our trip in Blide River. Guest facilities and houses are wonderful, very charming and so comfortable. Each night the hosts give their best to offer a moment based on an excellent quality and tasty food, big fire to share with other guests … a true inside country experience, very simple but deep ! Special mention for the choice of Steve selection wine that buid his own wordwilde celar Wine with passion. Thanks again for everything and also many thanks for all the staf cares.

*We had a very memorable stay here – which was one of our highlights on a three-week tour around South Africa. The hosts and staff were so friendly and made us really feel at home throughout a three-night stay and it was like being part of a family. There is a welcoming and honest African ‘informality’ about the Lodge – such as us being invited to join the Lodge owner’s family for a Braai (BBQ) and sit by the fire, or just helping yourself to the bar (with an honesty list for billing at the end) – that is ever so welcoming and enjoyable, even more so than any luxury hotels we have experienced. We hope that you have the chance to experience this yourself too!

*We spent 2 nights at Amafu because it’s conveniently located close to Hoedspruit airport and the Blyde River Canyon. The lodge itself was very nicely done, staff was always welcoming and accommodating. They always had something to eat ready for us when we returned from our excursions. Love the outdoor shower! We wish we had had some more time to explore the lodge and the surrounding garden, pool etc.
